ACE OF SPADES CUSHION

The Republic of Malta Playing Arts (2015) is a permanent yet moveable collective art exhibition housed in a card set to which more than 60 contemporary artists contributed.

The famous prehistoric Sleeping Lady (7x12x6.8cm) is a well-polished clay figurine with traces of ochre, recovered from the subterranean Hypogeum [literally: underground] (UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980) and now permanently on display at the Museum of Archaeology in Valletta. Lying on a bed, this statuette has abnormally fat limbs and hips, is naked to the waist and wears only a skirt, fringed at the hem.
